Comic book stories have been such a great source for the movie industry. Stories such as "Spider-Man" and "The Incredible Hulk" to "Superman" and "X-Men" have all shared a spot on the big screen. Although some represent the original comics better than others, they all bring something to life that was once on paper and in our imagination.

The comic that I always loved watching is "Batman". It has been made into many movies and shows in the past, but the one that is rather exceptional is the most recent release, "The Dark Knight". This is the sequel to "Batman Begins", which showed the history of Batman and how he came to be. In the sequel, Batman, played by Christian Bale, comes up against his most formidable foe, The Joker (Heath Ledger). This is the first time the two of them meet, and it is one of the best portrayals of the comic that I have seen.

Along with showing the feud that grows between the two characters, the movie also shows how Bruce Wayne comes to terms with being Batman while still wanting to find a bit of normalcy in his life. There are a few interesting twists in this movie as well, and will definitely make you sit on the edge of your seat.

Christian Bale does a great job at playing the Batman. When outside of his Bat-suit, he is the upper class, high-powered Bruce Wayne. When wearing the Bat-suit, he transforms into the dark, fearless knight of Gotham City. There is no doubt that Christian Bale is a fantastic actor and he brings life to every role he plays.

The most anticipated character is The Joker, played by Heath Ledger. He is more than perfect for this role and captures the character’s personality in such a way that would have you dream about him at night. He pierces the screen with his performance and truly displayed what evil really is.
